Alex Houston graduated from College of DuPage with his Associates Degree and Lewis University with a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Communications and a minor in Public Relations and Advertising. Alex has been associated with the Foundation and actively volunteering and advocating since 2012. His epilepsy diagnosis as a child due to a brain injury brought about a desire to want to learn more. As EFGC’s Teens Speak Up Representative in Washington, D.C. in 2014, he found his voice and desire to learn and advocate for himself and others with disabilities.
He works to develop relationships with the community by sharing personal experiences with the insight of living with epilepsy. Alex will provide epilepsy related trainings and presentations, specializing in both seizure training for school personnel and childcare personnel. “Epilepsy has brought challenges and impacted myself and many others in my life. It has also made me extremely thankful and fortunate that I have opportunities to learn from epilepsy. It has given me so much to share.”
