Managing Students with Seizures

This 2.5-hour training provides school nurses with information, strategies and resources that allow them to better manage students with seizures in a school setting.  The training focuses on positive treatment outcomes and maximizing developmental and educational opportunities.  Also included, seizure types, first aid, treatment options, and how to educate other school staff.  The training is available in-person or online.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited as a provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity provides 2.2 contact hours.

The learner must complete the three modules in their entirety and obtain a minimal passing score of 80% on the post test. In addition, each participant must complete a pre-test, post-test, and a final evaluation form on the CDC’s online CEU center to receive a Certificate of Completion designating 2.2 contact hours. There is no partial credit awarded.

The CDC has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102. The CDC is authorized by IACET to offer 0.3 ANSI/IACET CEU’s for this program.

There is no commercial support for this activity.
