Leigh Schommer began working as a Case Manager with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago in September 2016. She is originally from Portland, OR, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work. Due to her personal experience of living with epilepsy, Leigh has dedicated herself to advocating for those in need of support and encouragement during their difficult times. Through many years of volunteering with the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest, facilitating different international epilepsy support groups, and working in hospital and clinical settings, Leigh has learned the meaningful value of assisting others. She is also fluent in Spanish and very passionate about working with diverse populations. Along with case management, Leigh serves as the contact person for all of the support groups within the EFGC, and assists in providing Hispanic outreach.
