Brad Serot continues to turn personal challenge into powerful impact. On Saturday, July 13, he completed the Triple Bypass Cycling Race—a 118-mile ride over three Colorado mountain passes—for the fifth consecutive year in honor of his 10-year-old daughter, Ava, who lives with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Riding alongside his Yes We Can cycling team of 16, including seven new participants this year, he helped raise over $500,000 in 2025 alone. Since the team’s formation in 2020, their efforts have generated an astonishing $2.4 million in donations. Proceeds benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago, the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley Foundation, and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Each year, the Yes We Can team pushes themselves to new heights, literally and figuratively. They finished strong this summer, driven by their mission to raise awareness and support for the children and families who face immense challenges every day. Brad is clear that no race, no matter how grueling, compares to the strength he sees in his daughter.

What makes this year’s effort even more special is that the donation page remains open, allowing supporters to continue to contribute to the cause. The page is still accepting donations at this link.

“We all ride for someone in our lives, whether it be a daughter, son, brother, friend, or the families these incredible organizations support and we believe in the mantra, ‘Yes, we can.’ We can because this race is incomparable to the commitment our loved ones make every day to conquer tasks we take for granted, and yet, they pursue their dreams with tenacious determination and a smile on their face. That type of perspective makes cycling 120 miles feel like a walk in the park,” Brad says.

We are forever grateful for Brad’s accomplishments and are honored to have him serve on our board. His continued passion to support EFGC is vital to our mission to provide programs and services to the epilepsy community.
